Summary | 0007005: Guardian scroll rescue mission blocked by regular mission in region
Description | (Version is actually 0.925, but that option isn't available) I used a guardian rescue mission scroll adjacent to a region that had a regular boss tower mission available in it (with only a few minutes left before it expired). I had expected that the scroll mission would either replace or co-exist with the boss tower mission in that region. Unfortunately, after using the scroll, the region with the boss tower mission indicated nothing about the rescue mission. I did the other regions' rescue missions, expecting that when the boss tower expired, the rescue mission there would show up as well. But it did not: when the boss tower expired, no mission was listed for that region (and I entered the region to look for it as well). I didn't enter the boss tower region while that mission was active to see if the rescue was also available, but for sure it was not available after the boss tower mission expired. (The rescue mission should have been nowhere near expiration: only about 15 minutes had elapsed from using the scroll until the boss tower expired). If the scroll and regular missions can't co-exist in the same region, it'd be better if the scroll ones took precedence, since they are much harder to come by. (Or if not that, maybe the game could warn you the scroll won't have it's normal full effect)

Internal Weight | Fix Before Major Release
|
I don't think the power scrolls that generate missions should overwrite world missions, but I don't think it would be easy to display both being active either. A simple compromise would be a slight UI adjustment that pops up displaying a border or highlight or other such indication of the tiles that will be affected by the scroll you are about to use. So, optimally, it could highlight the player's square and the four directly adjacent to the player's square as well. If one of the adjacent squares is invalid, such as an ocean, shallows, settlement, already mission'd area, it would not highlight. Should improve clarity and user experience. |
