Summary | 0006984: New map type suggestion: Ladder map
Description | "Ladder" - Planets form a ladder-like chain, or perhaps the crossing of two or more ladder-like chains, giving a more open/less easily bottlenecked map than a Snake, X, or Concentric one, but less free-form than a Realistic one. Some examples (* = planet, - = connection, . = ignore spacer to preserve formatting) Single ladder: *-*-*-*-*-* |.|.|.|.|.| *-*-*-*-*-* Crossed ladders: ....*-* ....|.| *-*-*-*-*-* |.|.|.|.|.| *-*-*-*-*-* ....|.| ....*-* Edit: Drat, it's not a monospace font for the report view, so the spacing is screwed up anyway. I'm not sure how to fix that. In the meantime, let's assume the second example looks like the outline of a + sign.

Yea, I got bit by the non-monospace font thing too. Anyways, I like this, if for no other reason then for more variety in map styles. EDIT: Not to say I don't like this map style, I do. I think this would be a fun map type to try. |
