Summary0006975: The "Things You Should Do" window gives misleading information.
DescriptionIf you have structures as guardian powers and have the correct NPCs, but their professions are not high enough, the help menu nicely tells you which structures you need to look for.

If you happen to also have the other structure as a guardian power that is also blocked in a similar manner, the help menu tells you to find a guardian power you already have.

It should tell you to look to the other structure, and not find something you have.

I'm not sure I understand; here's the current text it shows for getting level 2 of a profession:

"The settlement has a guardian power scroll that requires a {0} of skill level 2, but does not have a Residence and Storage Tower. Such a tower provides the settlement's population with basic facilities and allows them to progress beyond the very basics of their professions. Complete a mission that offers a Shape Matter: Residence and Storage Tower scroll as a reward, make sure you have a Lumbermancer and the other requirements, and then use that scroll to build the tower."

Where {0} is replaced by the profession name.

Anyway, the point is that it tells you not only to get a scroll, but to get the person with the profession and the other requirements (specifically, shards and any other materials involved). If you want it to also say what it takes to get an npc of the requisite profession skill level (Lumbermancer 1 in this case, which is simple, but is more complex for other stuff) and where to find the other required resources, etc, then honestly that's probably out-of-scope for packing into a single bit of text.

But if you just want it to be clearer, sure. How about something like:

"The settlement has a guardian power scroll that requires a {0} of skill level 2, but does not have a Residence and Storage Tower. Such a tower provides the settlement's population with basic facilities and allows them to progress beyond the very basics of their professions. To fulfill this need:
1) If you don't have a Shape Matter: Residence and Storage Tower scroll, complete a mission that one as a reward.
2) If you don't have an survivor with the Lumbermancer profession, find and rescue one.
(would only show this one for things that require more than skill-level 1) * If your Lumbermancer lacks the necessary infrastructure to perform at the skill-level required to build the structure, fulfill that need.
3) If you lack any of the materials (shards, lumber, etc) required to build the structure, find them.
4) Use the scroll to build the structure."

I think something even simpler would work. The problem I had was that it was already looking to see what structures I should make based on the NPCs I had. That made me think it was doing more work than it actually was.

It figuring out which structures I need to upgrade my NPCs is awesome. It could just say:

"You need to build a "Residence and Storage Tower"

And leave out the

"go complete a mission to get a Shape Matter scroll"

For 0.926:

* Simplified the "Get skill-level (x) of profession (y)" text to simply say "build a (building)" when it's missing a building rather than explaining that you need to get the scroll for the other building, get someone of the right profession, and meet the other requirements. The extra information was proving confusing.

Thanks :)
