Summary0006637: Modules shoot non-threat AI ships
DescriptionI'm not too sure on this, but I think most fleet ships avoid shooting non-threat ships until they take a shot themselves. However, I've noticed that when I bring a modular ship (Riot with lasers or spire ships with rail cannons) tend to aggro the entire planet very quickly. I think this is because they are not doing the same check for whether they should be attacking that the ships themselves do.

You know, this would actually explain a lot about why it seems that taking out guard posts one by one doesn't seem to working so well.

Guess I'll start leaving my riot starships and Spire capital ships behind when doing guerrilla raids or "specific target" raids

Just isolated this better, on a planet with nothing but the AI command station (yes, even killed the WH guard posts). With non-modular long-range ships in range of new ai defenses spawned at the command center, they did not fire on them right away, but modular ships' modules would fire right away.

I finally got around to testing this... and I can't reproduce it :) I brought some missile frigates within range of a command station with some dormant guards (no guardians to wake them up), and they didn't fire. I then brought a Riot III with laser and machine gun modules within laser and machine gun range of the command station and guards and it didn't fire.

Can anyone upload a save with a reproducible case?
