Summary | 0006459: Changes to Creeping Death.
Description | Having been using Creeping Death since the recent health increases I feel it is lacking something.... Originally I was going to suggest doubling it's mana cost and tripling it's damage, make it one of the first high mana character only combat spells. The problem here is that it leaves in some of the other issues with it, indeed it might make them worse, currently to make up for it's speed I almost use it like a melee spell to minimise the chances of missing. However a better idea I now feel is to give it a damage trail, this would increase it's utility significantly, if you set the damage trail to say 50% of the main projectile then against smaller enemies even if you miss you have some chance to damage them, and against bosses a properly judged shot will be able to them multiple times. This I feel would make up for the "slowness" of the spell (low projectile speed, and high long range cooldown) as well as making it "feel" more like Creeping Death. If you feel like a mana cost increase would be required as a balance then fair enough, but at the moment it just feels like a rubbish version of Energy Pulse...

I always though creeping death should have homing capabilities. A life-sucking blob of death, seeking out a target to consume? Sounds about right. Perhaps give it a longer cooldown to prevent it from being used too often. Perhaps its duration would be 8-10 seconds, and the cooldown would be slightly more, like 10-15. |

I like seeking. Perhaps it "latches on" to the nearest target. If it can kill that target, then it moves on? I'm guessing at its typical speed, it'll only kill one or two guys. However, a fire-and-forget spell like this would be different and refreshing. |
