I'm going to guess that this is referring to your base health still when it says 80% fall damage. That made a little more sense under the old system when health was shown as 100%, 200% and so on as you used health stone buffs. Maybe it just needs to show fall damage as a numerical value since health has changed back to that instead of being percentage based. |

Thanks! * Fixed the falling damage (and heat and cold and lava and water damages) all being too kind and being based off your original max health rather than your current max health. Upgrading your health no longer makes you any more resilient to falling, walking into a volcano, or falling in acid water. |

Oh noes, this isn't what I wanted at all! In the spirit of being a good tester, I will actually play with it before complaining about it. But ouch, what a nerf. Reinforces my desire to never play without an enchant that negates fall damage! |

You think you have problems I reported both this AND the glitch that let you prevent all falling damage. It wasn't until the latter was gone that i realized how much i had been abusing it.... Earlier I came across a deep cave and thought "no way in hell am i jumping down there" and left, i'm looking forward to an avoid falling damage enchant, so the system is working at least. |

The idea of falling damage is that it be intimidating -- if you stand atop a really high cliff, the only way it feels high and meaningful is if it is high. I say this as a player who loathes falling damage in minecraft, and in fact turns it off. It's just a different kind of game. But here, when you have a giant cliff, you can swap out enchants to float down, or you can do something else to negate the ill effects. Except when fighting around enormously large holes, it's really quite a forgiving system in that you have to fall pretty darn far to even take 10% falling damage. |

I'm just not feeling it. I had stopped being as worried about it under the new health system, since I wasn't likely to have a big fall and lose an expensive health buff, but now that I can have a big fall and lose ALL my upgrades spent on a character? Yikes! No way am I ever taking off that enchant. But if other people feel the risk is worth the reward of using something different, more power to 'em. |

Bob -- I'm exhausted at the moment, but if you feel like putting up a poll, I'm happy to go with popular opinion on this one. I didn't hate it the way it was before this version, but I do feel like this adds more. Potentially this is something that should vary by difficulty, I'm not sure. |
