Description | Granite, iron and copper all seem to have a density less then that of water. Even if the acid water is somehow denser than normal water (and it would have to be at least three times as dense for these three materials to float in it), it's odd that the player and various monsters sink in it. In terms of gameplay, having these resources float made sense while the resources were scarce and there wasn't an easy way to survive underwater. Currently, I find it frustrating to collect resources underwater (such as in ocean regions), and a bit surprising when rocks float in puddles. | ||||

All drops float in water/lava, so that you can pick them up off the top rather than having to damage yourself to get them when it's just a puddle. When it's the ocean, that's one of the things that makes the oceans feel different and strange. :) |
