Description | Inspired by the discussion over at 0006079, I had an idea of a mission type which might relatively frequently appear somewhere on the continent with the following rules. Sets of series of chunks/rooms/caves gated by the killing of all/most/some key monsters within each. The first series is always Tier 1, the second Tier 2 and so on, perhaps all the way up to Tier 10. Rewards for the mission are related to how far into the mission you progress. In between each series a chunk/room/cave will hold a mission information doodad and a warp portal. Exiting through the warp portal there will give you only the rewards marked on the doodad. Rewards are relative to the Tier you're currently operating on for the continent, so if you only tackle the Tier 1 portion it might be worthwhile when you're Tier 1 but you'll only get junk (which you could've gotten by just harvesting out in the world) if you're at Tier 4, say. Conversely, going after the Tier 5 rewards when you're Tier 1 will give you something really spangly, but be immensely difficult to do. If there's a Tier 6 through 10 I imagine the rewards would follow whatever rules the caves eventually follow for rewarding you for that. (And I think the T6-10 caves definitely should, incidentally, although I acknowledge it's a question of them being optional.) | ||||
