Summary | 0006052: Changes to resource collection art
Description | This was mostly inspired by my penchant for deforestation leaving areas feeling desolate and is a polish change really, but I think that instead of being destroyed various of the resource points should simply be pushed into the background (ie become untouchable). For example, cutting down an entire tree to get one cherry seems sort of dubious, especially after the apocalypse. The same could probably be applied to ore veins, fade them out slightly to show having been mined. Indeed if you want to go the whole artistic hog then everything would have two pieces of art, harvested and unharvested. Additionally this would in theory pave the way for renewable resources, ie ones that can be harvested multiple times. Which I am going to suggest in a different report...

Oh good god, no no no. ;) That's a huge art load on me for not much gain. If you don't like deforested areas, stop deforesting them -- seriously. In terms of pushing them to the background, there is no way to do that which would be clear to players. |
