Description | Now that enchants give us good reason not to want emit light all the time, it's become a problem when you accidentally destroy lights. This is a cool tradeoff for AOE spells, but ring of fire is so finicky to use that it seems uneccesarily punishing to have it miss your enemy because he was standing too close to a wall AND plunge you into darkness.
More broadly, is there any chance a dev could spend a few minutes playing around with ring of fire in some interiors? Something about it feels wrong. I often suspect that it's missing enemies who are in range and line of site because they're close to a wall or floor that collides with the burst of flame that would have hit them --- I may well be wrong about that, but I wonder if the spell could be improved so that it's a bit clearer visually where it should and shouldn't hit? |
