| Description | I bought the game few days ago on Impulse (or GameStop, whatever you prefer :\ ). When I downloaded it, the version was 0.541. I noticed there are 11 BETA updates available so I tried to install them...They download fine, but when Autoupdater starts, after it says it is "now ready to install updates", I recieve the following error message: "There has been an error. Error reading file C:/Program Files/Indie Games/ A Valley Without Wind/RuntimeData/updates/updatelist.txt The application will exit now." I am a bit worried because I do not know, what will happen when there are non-beta updates... | ||||

When there are non-beta updates, Impulse will provide them to you directly, so at core there's no reason to worry too much. However, to fix the problem it's probably a permissions issue. You'll want to go to C:/Program Files/Indie Games/ A Valley Without Wind and right-click that folder, then make sure that yourself, administrators, and users in general have Full access rights to that folder and subfolders. Then it should work fine. Hope that helps! |

Thank you for a quick response. I di as you said and what do you know - it worked! Thanks! And here I though I've already gave every possible access right to any possible user on my PC. That Vista... Oh well. As for non-beta updates - yeah, I expected as much, but it happened to me that Impulse started to act a bit funny when it came to certain game updates, but that was probably because I manually updated them before the Impulse. Thank you again. |
