Description | There's been some discussion lately on the idea of adding purchasable ship cap upgrades, which got me thinking that it might be interesting to add a structure that would increase a player's ship caps while held. I would think that it should be tough but non-mobile, forcing the player to retain and defend the planet. I can think of several ways to handle mk levels and I'm not sure which would be best - you could either have it boost all unlocked tech levels, or perhaps have a "Logistics Driver mkI", mkII, etc that would boost all caps of the specified level. Versions for starships might be problematic given the low caps they have, but versions for turrets or various non-combat units (engineers, mines, and detectors or something) might work. I suppose this could be tough to balance - too much of a cap increase could break the game, too few and it wouldn't be a compelling enough target - but I can see it being something definitely worth capturing and defending a planet.
