Summary | 0000516: AI Energy Distributor
Description | I understand the AI has no explicit energy production in this galaxy, but presumably it runs it's ships somehow. I propose the method it uses to run these ships is a massive "Energy Distributor" which pulls energy across a giant galactic void (from wherever the main production facilities are) and pumps it out to AI ships everywhere. Now, the AI would use 2 of them (for redundancy): One on the homeworld which acts as the main one, and one on a backwater planet somewhere which is the reserve. These have unique properties: * If you capture the reserve one, you get energy production equal to som percentage of the sum of all AI ships energy consumption (or a large fixed amount, but i think this is less interesting/cool) * This causes the AI to be concerned, and raises the AIP 1 every 10 minutes for as long as you hold it. They also send 2x waves to this planet. * If you captured the other energy reactor at the time of your homeworld assault, you can raid the main power generator on the core homeworld to do 3 things: * Shut down all defensive AI structures (like what happens to you when you go too far negative) * Gain a bunch of extra energy production as the AI is mistakenly routing more power to your distributor * The AI automatically initiates a large raid against the the planet housing the distributor regardless of whether it could normally or not * If you destroyed it, the raid is replaced with another AIP increase (and no energy benefits of course) Each AI would have it's own distributor set. Of course you could cut out the second node and all that, but i would prefer this way! Originally by: RCIX http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,3764.0.html
