Description | I am currently fighting mini-boss. Giant amoeba. It is, as usually, goes to the upper right corner and sits here. Oh, well, then I will take resources from the underground part of chunk, I think... But when I reached amoeba's zone of control, something strange happen: I begin to receive now and again lightning bolts (or how it is named?) that usually amoeba does. But it goes just from empty square of map near me! I get screenshot of one shot from down to up. But actually it can happen in any direction. | ||||

Keith, I think this may be smoothing-related, but I'm not sure. If the boss is going to the upper right and getting stuck outside of the screen, then the boss should be warping to somewhere in the chunk that it can actually fight. My best guess is that it's doing so, then trying to attack the player, then getting sent back because of smoothing. Or something along those lines. I'm not really sure, but this is a new thing and the only stuff that's changed in the last release or so has been your stuff relating to multiplayer, so that's where I'm inclined to look so far. |

I don't think smoothing is actually operative at all in SP. But sure, probably something MP related. |

Well, yeah, that makes sense. But there's something new there in the last release, it seems, and I don't think it was anything I did although I could be wrong. I mostly wasn't in that area of the code, though, with the last one in particular. |

Ok, just confirmed that smoothing isn't running at all in SP. I'll look through the svn logs to see what else could be related but it's likely that I'm going to need a reproducible case to make any progress on this one. |

It seems, a lot of bosses behave similar. It's like if any boss too far from me tries to run even farer. Just seen it with "Fire robots" mini-bosses too. Some (closer) tries to pursue me, but others (far) goes to far corner and stuck here. And it wasn't before some certain build. I think this happened with "advanced AI", but I can be wrong. Also: every flying boss outdoor definitely goes out screen trying to evade me. But it is strange "outscreen" - I cannot see or reach it, but I can target and fire here. And there is monster fire from there too. |

Thanks! * Fixed several issues with how the top of the chunk in outdoor areas was being treated. This had then been causing some strangeness with enemy shots warping around oddly when there were amoebas sandwidtched right at the top of the exterior available area. |
