DescriptionAnother sea issue --- I've discovered a tile that claims to be sea, but has land running almost the whole way across it. It has got a sea, but it's entirely confined to surface tunnels in all five chunks. This is a cool area, but I think it should have its own tile graphic --- both because it's quite a different experience to open sea, and because it's weird to run across a long string of land and then come out and see yourself standing on blue water. Maybe it could be a separate type represented by an archipelago or something?

Sounds like you were in a shallows tile. I support shallows having a different tile graphic from regular ocean, since right now you can only tell where shallows are during overland travel by right-clicking each ocean tile.

That sounds right; but yeah, I had no idea those existed. If they're shallows, though, shouldn't they appear on coastlines? Seems a bit strange to find them in the middle of the ocean.

They should appear in the middle of the ocean, the world is all fractured.

Anyway, supposedly the shallows do have a subtle difference in their icon, I can't really tell the difference though.

You're right, there is a difference but it's too subtle for casual observation. It's using a copy of the thawing plains overlay to make the difference, but that blends into the lighter ocean overlay used to make the churning oceans effect. Maybe if it were darker, we'd notice it.
