Summary | 0004532: Fatal error during strategic management
Description | Hey, I was using the strategic management screen that you unlock at civ lvl 3. When I clicked next turn it started skipping turns about 30 a second and it said the game had a ''fatal error'' and that I should restart it. When I restarted it the exact same thing happened again, and now my savegame is completely ruined. I hope you fix this asap! PS: Any way to fix my savegame or is it lost? (It keeps doing it and I also have about 300 bosses in my main settlement.)

Can you upload the world here? They might need that to assist fixing this issue. |
I'll try, that's the whole folder named **my world** under the worlds tab, right? |
Can you post the error files from your RuntimeData folder? And also the zipped world file in question that you're having this happen in? This would be the first lost savegame if that's what is happening, which would be definitely unlucky on your part. But it sounds like your savegame isn't broken per se, just that it's always running into the same error when you try to do certain things in it. |
Yes, that whole folder just zipped up. And then also the txt error files in the RuntimeData folder, as those are the actual error reports in question. Thanks! |
A bit of a dumb question, but when I open the worlds tab I see my world ''Tagek'', but it doesn't let me select that to upload it, it just opens when i click on it. Am I doing it wrong? |
Fixed for 0.514, thanks :) |
@Tagek, you have to zip it into one file first, but, I don't think that that's necessary now. Keith is just plan FAST! :-) |
Well, nevermind, apparently -- looks like Keith got it. But to upload it, you have to go into the file system, and use a zip program (or the OS) to zip the folder, and then upload it through here. There's not an in-game function for doing that. |
I guess, but the thing is that all my npcs in my village are now dead and I have a huge amount of extra shards. Is there any way to revert it or should I just pick up where I am then? (Once the update hits that is) |
Uploaded it, if anything can be done (I'm at turn 200 or so when I was only at turn 20 before the error happened) that would be great, otherwise thanks for the help. PS: Great and fun game, I'm certain I'll be buying it when im done messing around in the trial! |
There's no way to revert worlds; you can back up your world folders periodically if you think you want to revert, but generally speaking it's always forwards only. Losing all your NPCs really isn't the end of the game; you can always start over with another settlement, and eventually you can invite more NPCs back to your current settlement (though, Keith, that would be something to really do sooner than later in terms of allowing that when all the NPCs are dead). |
How exactly do you start a new settlement? Or do you mean a whole new world? Sorry to bug you with my silly questions, but I'm very excited to talk to one of the developers! As I said, great game with huge potential :D. |
Thanks for the kind words. In terms of starting a new settlement, you'll actually find more settlements as you explore further into the world; later you'll also be able to found your own settlements, but that's not in there yet. However, usually there's at least one more settlement you'll find somewhere in the teens of region levels; look for the same icon that your first settlement has. |
I see, thanks for the great and SUPER FAST help! I'll go enjoy some more of your awesome game now, bye :). |
