Description | Nukes are useful, but they are... in need of consent in multiplayer. As some other folks put it, they are easy to grief with, and I know this first hand from my dad and uncle, and have for ages. But I never figured out how to solve that until recently. Simple: a control option called "Lift Nuclear Embargo." When this control option is NOT on for any players other than the one trying to build a nuke, then the player's nuke won't progress in the build queue, and will show a message stating that there is currently a nuclear embargo from <NamesOfPlayersWithThatSettingOn>. Note that you DON'T have to lift the nuclear embargo to build something yourself, so in single player this has absolutely no effect. But if we play two-player, and you want to build a nuke, I have to lift my embargo. If I want to build one, you have to lift yours. If a third player ones to build one, then both you and I have to lift ours, but he doesn't have to do anything. I think this will make a number of people really happy. We should probably also consider a "Lift Armored Warhead Embargo," and this should definitely be done in such a way that arbitrary groups of ForegroundObjectTypes can be embargoed easily in the future via future control nodes. If it fits, yes. This could be something for next week, but I think this is important. |

As much as I'd love to avoid the griefing, this needs to be post-4.0. |
|
If this feature is added then I believe players will broaden their selection of players to play with. |
