Description | This is mostly here to provide a mark to a diucsssion point and piece of demo feedback about Slurry Spiders and Microfabs requiring too much clicking for a mandatory structure. The Grand Mugwump — Today at 00:04 I think that early part has a lot of basic base building too. "Place 10 slurry spiders" Okay. "Place 5 microbuilder factories." Okay. "Place 3 nanoweave factories." Okay. "Build 3 apartments." Okay. I probably stopped right when it's about to get fast paced again. XD The Grand Mugwump — Today at 00:06 Honestly, I wonder why some of those are even necessary for us to place, since where we place them has minimal or negative impact if we don't optimize them later, and there's no reason not to always have them (besides the apartments) maxed out. As far as later on goes, it's incredibly fast in "starting from chapter 2" or in fresh timelines to place all that stuf, since you can do it all at once and you have all the resources for it right away. I still feel a kind of "okay, I guess I'll just click randomly around the map until the game tells me to stop" feeling. Some sort of single building that 'gives' you the equivalent in exchange for all being in one place could make for a nice upgrade to get once you hit int3, so on future timelines you can just stick one of those down instead of bothering with spider and microfab placement in every timeline. | ||||

In my second timeline my initial base setup in the first 5 turns was 100 buildings (I did count). It felt like a lot. A good chunk of that was Slurry spiders and microfabs. |

Despite my own love of building things, I definitely agree in the case of slurry spiders. It's a lot of spiders, even just in the demo build, halving the number of them seems like a good idea and would help make the very start of people's chapter 1 experience as a new player a little smoother. |
