| Description | Actual: It's not easy to quickly identify what text was added in the tooltip between pressing shift and not. Consequently, I find myself rapidly spamming Shift to help me identify what the new text is. Suggested: I'd like to suggest a very small bullet-point or something similar to be appended to the beginning of each line of added text, so that I can rapidly tell what was added which wasn't present before. Additionally, it would be nice if those lines were indented (about what you'd get out of a <Tab> keypress in a text editor.) Caveat: Some of the added text is in-line, as seen in my example here with the weapon stats. My suggestion for handling these cases is to just indent /+ bullet the line where added text is, at least that will tell me at-a-glance that there's something new here and I can zero in on that line rather than trying to play "what is different" with every tooltip. | ||||

There's nothing consistent about what is added to text, and usually it's not actually adding new lines. The most common thing is that it expands the text next to icons, to give them names. In the case of things that explain stuff in more detail, like actions, it's a completely revised version of the tooltip. I could spend a solid three weeks working on nothing but this tweak, and I doubt it would be any more clear. This is kind of "is what it is." |
