Summary | 0028333: Gameplay - Other - Spawning enemies up to a certain cap causes no new enemies spawning despite contradicting messages | ||||
Description | Description: While repeating any event that spawns enemies that guard their post the enemies will appear only up to a certain cap. After this no new enemies will appear around the area, but the event message will still claim that x amount of units has appeared. Reproduction steps: 1. Unlock collecting seeds or bovine samples 2. Repeat either event until reaching around 41 squads 3. Collect seeds or bovine samples until triggering the event again 4. Observe that the event notification claims 3 - 4 sniper units have spawned but the amount of squads in the tile didn't change Notes: - Chance of triggering the sniper result from collecting seeds event is: 42.8% - Attached save has steps 1 and 2 already completed | ||||

So, it was seeding them, but just not where anyone would expect. This is actually the same as another bug that I need to fix. The reason that they're seeding over there is that it's randomly iterating adjacent tiles since that one close tile is so full up. But that wasteland area should be off limits to them. |

Thanks! * Fixed all of the cases I could find where new npc foot units would spawn in the wasteland out-of-bounds area at the edge of the city. ** The only things that should be seeding out there at the moment are the regional and international transports. |

This general bug -- npcs spawning outside of the city boundaries -- would be a really good test case to make sure is not happening further. As you noticed, it can be quite confusing. But when it's not confusing, it can theoretically softlock a city, as npcs that must be interacted-with might be outside where the player can click. So that makes this one pretty high priority. |
