Description | Vast mobile fortification that offers near impregnable protection for whatever stays within its perimeter (a bit smaller than a Mk I Force field). Is found derelict (like Golems); +40AIP if repaired. All outgoing shots reduced to 0% damage. Unarmed. Speed: 12. Requires 30’000 energy and cannot be switched off once repaired. Can never be destroyed completely but instead returns to its derelict state; can be re-repaired (but not before being derelict) tho the AIP penalty only counts with the first repair. Mechanically I see this operating like the current force fields except with a rather impressive ‘iron ring’ sprite instead (something too involved to draw speculatively here I’m afraid, but willing to have a stab at it if likely to see development). Objects contained within its perimeter benefit from the haven. If possible, all objects within its radius cannot fire at all and are not affected by any planet-wide effects or tractor beams. Imagine the interior as being a kind of total isolation environment. If not enough energy is provided it becomes ‘transparent’ as far as the game is concerned (50% alpha fade?) thus removing its haven capability whilst dormant.
