Summary | 0002448: Stats reference is wrong for (at least) AI Spire Shield posts
Description | Unless it does actually take a ship cap of mk 3 bombers a couple hours to take one down. I haven't tried it yet this patch, but I doubt that's the case. Multiplier shows as 1 and damage per shot of 30 for almost all ships. I don't know if this is broken elsewhere in the stats comparison.

You mean on the reference tab? Those numbers are computed from the actual in-game stats using the same function used to determine how much damage a shot really does. It may be related to the ff changes, though, and it's getting confused about its attack power when firing directly upon an ff-generating ship. But I'm pretty sure it would be equally as confused on the reference tab as it would be "in real life". Will look into it, thanks. |

Attached a screenshot, here's the explanation of the red-numbers-in-boxes and arrows: 1) The left-hand-side ship (spire shield guard post mk II). 2) The right-hand-side ship (bomber mkI). 3) The multiplier that the right-hand-ship gets against the left-hand (10) and the actual damage-per-shot (38k). 4) Health of the left-hand ship (336m). The seconds-to-kill there are for one bomber vs one guard post. I haven't checked all the math but 336m/38k is indeed roughly 8843. If you do a cap-vs-one comparison in that setup you get a "cap" of the guard posts (which is just 1) vs one bomber. If you do a one-vs-cap or a cap-vs-cap comparison, it will compare 196 bombers vs one of the guard posts (this was from high caps) and the time-to-kill is much lower. So I'm not seeing anything out of order here, but please do re-open this if I missed something. Thanks :) |

So I was reading it backward. Why does the "opponent" column get changed to "Ships I can Build" and then is the "Them" side of the reference. That's stuff I can build only so it's not THEM! It should be ME. |

It's part of a carefully orchestrated and highly secret campaign to increase the intergalactic average of confused brain cells :) Actually, I just found it more useful personally to have the filter work on the table than on the dropdown. |
