Description | Think about it, 1 scorched earth basically cuts off half the galaxies resources. 2 cuts off almost all of them. I think that is game breaking enough to deserve exclusion from the "normal" AIs. As such, I think it deserves a spot on the "ultra-hard" AI list, so that it gets excluded from the AI-hard random non-technologist and AI random non-technologist AI options. | ||||

Oh, and I forgot to mention. This will also highlight the AI red in the AI selection list, like the others currently there. |

I hear what you're saying, but this is a pretty simple AI in most other respects. It's not any harder than, say, an alarmist if there is just one of them. There are definitely some AI type pairings even outside of the technologist ones where doubling them just makes it insane, but that doesn't mean they should be exclusively on the extra-hard list, in my opinion. |

It is not that this AI is difficult, it is that it can easily become very annoying. For the rest it might even be one of the easier medium AI-types. It might warrant an extra *caution* in the description, but as an AI it is similair as a starship AI in the easy AI-types list. It can become frustration cause of raid ships etc, but it surelly isnt a hard AI. |

Chris, is there anything to the idea of coding a simple additional switch in the AI type randomizer that ensures you don't get two of the same type? I can't think of a situation where two AI's of the same type is desirable, with some doublings resulting in a deadly dull game and others resulting in an insanely difficult one. |

It's certainly possible -- I figured it was interesting to sometimes have duplicates, but probably it's really not. I'll add that in. |
