Summary | 0002395: Give home forcefield immunity to EMP
Description | The default force-field generator is not immune to EMP, but it is already a separate unit type. Using raider fleet ships going after just warp gates, I found it surprisingly easy to accidentally dislodge emp guardians (and the rally posts), leaving the home command station defenseless and all my fleet ships neutralized while the smaller fleetships then proceeded to beeline for my defenseless command station. The EMP guardian had triggered in the system previous as well. I probably could have countered this behavior by setting up a command station in the intervening system, but I don't know. I am tempted to suggest EMPs don't affect any shields at all, but that would limit emp warheads ignificantly

Disabling forcefields is actually about the primary function of EMPs -- and the main risk of the EMP guardians. You do need to watch out for those! |
