Description | My game partner and I have been playing with the new warp gates. This really adds a new element to the game by removing a lot of busy work from before. It's now just as feasible to keep your massive factory works deep in your territory while pushing out across the galaxy, and not have to worry so much about putting old factories far away from the action onto hold. Now your whole planetary network can pitch in to rebuilding a fleet. The only downside I can hypothetically see to the current implementation is that no factories can "opt-out". If, for example, you have a garrison fleet you want to keep maintained at a chokepoint, there is no way to build up that garrison and resupply the front-lines at the same time. You have to wait for one to complete and then switch the warp gates on or off accordingly. If the garrison redirect planet control also impacted warp gates, that would probably be the most elegant solution. |
