Summary | 0002140: Option on game creation to start with more resources
Description | One issue I find with new games is that initially you don't start with many resources, and thus it takes quite a while to build an initial fleet and defenses. The problem goes away as the game goes on, but initially I often spend time just waiting to get the resources to build my initial ships & turrets. With that in mind, I think it might be a good idea to add an option when creating a new game for the players to start with extra resources. It wouldn't really change the mid to late game at all, but it would let you get up and running more quickly initially for impatient people like me. :)

That's what the resource handicaps are for. Turn yourself and the AI up equally, and you'll maintain balance but get a faster start. |
|
You can also do a multi-planet start, if you want even more. |
|
In the interest of taking things to a ludicrous extreme, start with 16 planets and 300% handicap. :D |
