Description | one thing I think AI war is missing is a true rapid fire ship. sure the minigun fires fast however its nothing like a real life automatic gun but firing more than 1 projectile a second would be laggy. however if you reskin a beam from the beam frigate to look like a stream of bullets you can get round this problem. the beam would lock onto a single enemy target and do damage at a constant rate, say 100 damage per second for example. it would have a range similar to the minigun do more damage per second but have a lower ship cap. in relation to shields (on ships/ turrets not force fields) because deciding how they would block the constant damage some alternatives must be found. the machine gun could either be able to pass through shields (its damage would have to be reduced to compensate) or not be able to damage ships which have high shield levels (bombers and tanks for example) but would ignore the shields of lower levels. or it could simply do less damage the higher the shield level Originally by: shadowstorm http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6855.0.html | ||||
