Summary | 0000194: Siege starships lack bonuses vs raid starships
Description | http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6861.0.html So it seems that raid starships are kinda hard to kill with siege starships. I think this kinda odd, as pretty much every other starship is murdered by them Actually, they also suffer a penalty versus Leech starships. While I think boosting the leech starship bonus up to 30 like the others would be nice, boosting the raid starship bonus too much might make raid starships rather useless.... well, er, im at a loss as to how im supposed to kill raid starships really. HBCs plink off them as if they werent even trying to hit them(yeah i know), they are immune to engine damage, fast enough to slip by turrets and hit something valuable, which they can shoot out from under a forcefield. It just seems odd that ive got this GIANT MOBILE GUN that cant hit anything smaller than a moon, yet when i point it at a raid starship its useless. I kinda see them as mobile orbital mass drivers at this point Wink Also. Can siege starships be allowed to hit the 'avenger' ship? pretty please? Fighters actually get a pretty large damage bonus against raid starships; and grav turrets and logistics stations slow them down nicely. The logistics stations are a extra win because they will speed up your fighters, helping them catch the now slower raid starships. They also lack bonuses against botnet golems.

* The "military ships immune to reclamation get a damage multiplier of 0.2 against me" rule was being applied to Parasites and Raid Starships; has now been corrected to apply to Parasites and Leech Starships. This means that Raid Starships will now be subject to tons of damage multipliers they were not subject to previously. To prevent the same problem with Leech Starships, that particular multiplier rule will now multiply any other defined damage multiplier against the ship type, rather than overwrite it. ** Thanks to Lancefighter for the report. |
