Summary | 0001931: Starship Deconstructor issues
Description | I got my Scout Starships eaten by a Starship Deconstructor. Now I can't build anymore because of that, which is really annoying. I suggest either: 1) Letting us scrap starships that are in Deconstructors 2) Making Deconstructors kill ships much faster 3) Auto-Kill starships in deconstructors if there are no other human military ships on the planet Personally I think 0000002 is the best solution. Make it so starships would die in about 5 Min of being in a deconstructor. 5 Min is plenty of time to rescue it if you have an adequate fleet.

What version were you playing, and do you have a save demonstrating this? Ships are already eaten within 4 minutes. But perhaps this unit was in cold storage or something, I'm not sure. On a cold storage planet it might take 8 minutes, at worst, I'd think. |

If you look at the scout starship in the starship constructor's build menu, it says "5 out of 5 in service", but if you use the galaxy "find" command for Scout Starships, it only finds the 1 on my HW. It's been that way for over an hour. Lance told me this was because of a starship deconstructor. |

Okay, thanks for all your info and that save! * When human ships have been swallowed by enemy ships (such as the spire maw or starship disassembler guardian), an alert now appears in the upper left saying how many ships are currently swallowed, and what their total remaining health is. This way players have some indication of where their ship cap went to (not on specific planets, just in general that they were swallowed -- the Find function can be used to find specific ships swallowed on enemy planets), and when they will get it back (usually under 5 minutes). * Scout starships can no longer be swallowed, which makes them a lot more useful again. Regular scouts can still be swallowed. * Previously, when ships had been swallowed, they would in fact get properly consumed, but they would not actually give back their ship cap upon death until the game was saved and reloaded, which was obviously a huge hassle. |
