Summary0001907: FRD mode with tractor beams
DescriptionI'd like to see a change in the behaviour of ships with tractor beams. If you put them into FRD mode then rather than the standard behaviour of hunt anything that moves, I'd like them to hunt ships with their tractor beams until either the planet is empty or all their tractors are active.

Once either of these conditions are met, the ship would then fly to where you centred the FRD mode move.

Example order:
1] I select a mk.I Martyr
2] I right click on a system under assault.
3] I shift + v + right click on one of my worlds with a turret ball.
4] I set a redirector post on that planet to rally at the turret ball.

Example behaviour:
1] The mk.I Martyr flies to the assaulted planet
2] It then flies round the screen collecting enemy fleet ships until it's either picked up 100 ships or there are no enemies that aren't tractored.
3] The Martyr then flies to the turret planet, collecting any enemy ships it encounters.
4] The Martyr arrives on the turret planet, and happily settles down in the middle of the turret ball while the ships it collected get shredded.

The idea behind it is to reduce the amount of micro required. A control option might be required to specify if you want mobile ships with both tractor beams AND guns (example: black widow golem) to behave like a ship with tractor beams or a ship with only weapons.

Similar behavior in ether jets, eg normal behavior on FRD until somthing is tractored, then moving to and remaining at the FRD point until the tractored unit ceases to be tractored, would be HUGELY awesome.

maybe with an on/off tickbox in the control menu

Automated tractor-murdering would be awesome. ^_^ Might actually make me take Etherjets as a bonus ship for once... Currently they feel like one of those "The AI rapes you with these, but they are useless to a human player" type ships.

For 5.003:

* Courtesy of the new 0000002 item on the mantis vote tallies liest: Added "Mobile Tractors With Full Load Rally" toggle to the global tab of the controls screen.
** If this toggle is checked, when one of your mobile units with tractor beams (notably Etherjets, Spire Tractor Platforms, Spirecraft Martyrs, and Black Widow Golems) has a "full load" (all tractors active), it will look for a rally post to rally to. If that rally post happens to be a redirector, that will work as it normally does, etc.
** When the rally trigger kicks in, all other orders (including FRD and attack-move, etc) will be cancelled on the tractoring unit. But if you give the ship an order after the rally behavior is triggered, it won't retry the rally unless it it loses one of its tractor targets and then fills up again.
** Note that this does not apply to Riot Control Starships with tractor modules, because the modules themselves are not mobile units.
