Summary | 0001821: Auto-attack neinzul clusters, remove invulnerability to nukes
Description | These aren't being automatically attacked by units, and I have over a hundred on a nuked planet. Fun. As another note, the invulnerability to nuclear explosions should be removed as well. These clusters still stand a VERY significant risk to my forces, my computer, and my sanity, and they should be destroyed by nukes as they don't cause AIP anymore.

I don't find the connect-the-dots amusing. :/ |
well duh, you just be hating that you couldnt figure out the picture without the numbers. |
Yeah, I was like "WHOA, what do!?" Also, it would be nice if martyrs could destroy these too--I assume they use the same damagetype as a nuclear explosion, and thus can't damage them? |
eh i think they just are ignored for all aoe damage calculations. making them auto-targetable would solve all of this |
I'm not sure if you realize that clusters, in addition to their mega-gun-of-annoy-Spikey, they generate neinzul ships inside themselves and hitting them causes said ships to be released to further annoy Spikey. If they were auto-targeted, it would be very difficult to prevent your ships (particularly your long range ones) from unleashing a minor (or major, in this case) horde upon you. |
They already unloaded all of their ships before I came to annihilate all of them once and for all; no ships were released on their destruction (same as friendly/neutral/AI enclaves). I would say the risks outweigh the immediate problem of all the ships unloading; else there would be no way to actually clear all of the clusters. |
As a side note, the clusters released ships even when they were EMP'd, but I assume that they are immune? |
Most likely they unloaded due to the loss of their command station, if you nuked the planet. But having them auto-attacked or nuke-able are both definitely not where we want to take this unit. |
Then how about a command to make the selected units auto-target non-auto-targetable enemies for cases like this? |
There should be a toggle for it in the controls menu, as it was definitely a tedious task in having to waypoint all the clusters for destruction. This could also apply to other situations too (a separate category) like auto-attacking guard posts regardless of being alerted beforehand, auto-attacking barracks, etc. |
