Summary | 0001709: Spire Frigates deal too much damage? | ||||
Description | I sent in a single Spire Frigate to attack a lone Spec. Forces guard post. The tooltip said it'd deal 1m damage and the frigate was the only ship I had on the planet. It did, however, bring the target from 4m to 1.958.366 health (I'm assuming the little bit of extra damage over 2m is from rounding issues). Is this intended (i.e. 1m per second over a 2-second burst), or is it doing twice the intended damage? | ||||

Armor piercing and/or bonus against relevant hull type? |

Would be reflected in the tooltip damage, and the Spire Frigates have no bonuses against any hull types. Armor piercing was enough to overcome the armor of the guard post, so it wasn't an issue at all (and, if I understood armor correctly, armor and armor piercing could only ever lower damage done, not increase it). |

Hmm, yea, it should only be doing 1m there. Can you post a save so I have your exact scenario? There's some funny business in the calculation based on performance profile, etc. |

Not the exact scenario, but I've got four spire frigate on the way to a command station shield guard post (with 1.4m health) on planet Isash. I halted the other three and sent the lone onwards, but it's a small time window there; might want to pause immediately upon loading. EDIT: Oh, and that guard post was destroyed in one salvo as well. |

Spirecraft Penetrators are also hitting twice in one frame, I made a report and a save for it. |

I assumed this was a blanket change, so I saw no need to report the rest of the Spire ships. This likely also applied to cruisers, battleships, destroyers and dreadnaughts as well. |

Seeing your thread helped me piece what I saw last week together. I wasn't sure it was a blanket change so I thought I'd mention it in case it wasn't. |
