Summary | 0001596: Repair glitch - my stealth battleships are stuck in a system I have supply in and can't be repaired | ||||
Description | My stealth battleships got trapped in Deska because of engine damage. I brought in all of my engineers and unlocked the MRS but only managed to repair one of them - the other two refuse to get repaired. Destroying the command station let me repair the other two but doesn't explain how I managed to repair the first one or why the MRS and the engineers became incapable of fixing the other two. It would appear that there were some Dreadnauts on patrol because it happened to me again in the same game in other hub system next to my home planet. However, I still don't understand why I can't repair engine damage in systems with AI Command Stations if I still have supply in those systems. |

These two changes should collectively fix it as a side benefit: * Any ship that can't be repaired now automatically has infinite engine health. * Ships with shot-out engines are no longer completely unable to move. Now they just have the infuriatingly-slow move speed of 1. This prevents such situations as wormhole guard posts permanently trapping player ships. Now ships can always at least move away, albeit extremely slowly, to then be later repaired. This also helps to reduce the micro needed with engineers related to engine health. |

Yep! |

Aww. My spider turrets lost much of their charm... I liked stranding about a thousand AI ships and slowly whittling them away. |

Well, now it's like watching them flounder around. It would likely take them, on normal mode... let's see... 1*2 = speed, 2 * 20 = speed per second, 30000 = typical distance, 30000 / 40 = 750 seconds to cross, or 12.5 minutes. That's how long it would take to cross about a quarter of the size of your planet, which is a pretty common distance to need to travel. If you play Epic, then it's twice that amount of time. If anything, it's actually funnier with them floundering around rather than just sitting there. :P |
