Summary0001527: New Knowledge Unlock: Energy Reactor Mk IV
DescriptionStarting with Parasites, and fighting an AI with Z Shredders, I find myself longing for a new reactor type I could unlock through knowledge. I'm running 3 Mk IIIs, in addition to maxed out of the other mks. Either I don't use parasites, or end up having to actively delete or throw away swarms of shredders to keep my energy down. I just end up with hundreds of the things. So...new energy unlock in the future?

I usually build one of each reactor in every system adjacent to my homeworld, that's 500k+ energy with a 4 wormhole start (plus the homeworld's own production), parasites and Z shredders shouldn't eat nearly this much power. With the boosted economy it's pretty feasible to use Mk3s a lot. If you still have trouble go capture a Zenith power generator.

The answer to this is: unfortunately, you need to take more territory. You aren't meant to be able to support too many ships with too small of territory, although the ZPG does let you mess with that some, to be sure.

Seriously, fleet ships aren't that power hungry and your homeworld is surrounded by MkI planets that are easy pickings, just smash 'em and stick power plants on there.
