Summary | 0001490: Spire signals always at homeworld
Description | Basically that - i started a new game on maze d type, and the first two 'away' signals have both happened on my homeworld

Of random note, it MIGHT have something to do with any logic set to avoid black hole machines - i currently have one exit out of my space, into a black hole machine. |
I didn't tell it anything about black hole machines. But I think I know what the problem is, thanks. |
That black hole machine will come in handy. (seed #?) |
seed 227539063, starting with spire blade spawners, on a 70 planet map http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3569927/Screenshot_2010_11_19_22_17_13.png should look like that |
awww, the reguees are sending me 3 jumps away. Looks like its time to break down that black hole system |
Yea, I think it's just the first two, because of some code I put in trying to patch up some cross-version discrepancies. Have fun with your shard recovery mission ;) FYI, I just finished implementing the end of episode 9/10, which is also the end of the game :) Just writing journal texts now, and then got a couple crash-ish bugs to look at... |
Awesome :D A feasible alternate win path? |
Actually, two new ways to win, though one of them is more dramatically new than the other. |
'dramatically new' has a very interesting tone to it, I look forward to it. |
Oh indeed, this sounds most intriguing |
You know how quite a few players are having grief over how much trouble the Spire are causing them in the form of those intense special AI attacks? As the journals say, that's largely because the Spire just don't psychologically fit with the whole "guerrilla warfare" thing that the Humans are bound to. So it's a bit of a bull-in-a-china-shop situation and the AI isn't amused. Nor are the human commanders, judging by player reactions ;) Well, if you manage to survive and succeed in advancing the progression far enough, the Spire get to show just exactly why they prefer fighting their way ;) |
but.. bulls in china shops dont break anything, according to mythbusters :p |
Ok, I'll give you that. They're more like frozen chickens fired at glass sheets or windshields. |
Ok, that's actually working as designed, I changed it a while ago to _really_ try hard to not send you to or through a mkIV world on the first two recovery missions. I can change that (to prefer sending you through a IV compared to sending you to your own space), but do you really want me to? ;D |
ah thats awfully kind of you.. While im reluctant to say this, it might be better if you just have it stop at the mk4 world - as in, itll send me into the mk4 world to get the signal, but never farther (until the shard for colonyship mission.. Which I might propose that it treats a mk4 world as two worlds for counting) I guess I wont argue with getting easy signals once in a while, so its probably best I keep quiet on this ;) |
I think it's fine as-is, it's only the first two signals that are "nice" in that way, and if you're bottlenecked by a mark IV planet having those spire frigates is a courtesy from the game to you ;) |
ok then, I can accept that :) |
