Description | Some discussion here: http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,7624.0.html Basically, with the Eye spawning ships that neither the player or AI has unlocked, the excitement of discovering new ships goes down the drain. Back in 3.0, it was much more fun to discover new ship types, as that required playing many games, as you were rarely to see all ship types in one game. Now you just go trigger an eye, reclaim the ships and get to experiment on almost every ship in the game. I had basically seen all bonus ships (available on complex ship types) in TZR after playing the first game with it enabled for 3 hours. Where's the excitement in that? I suggest that the Eye only spawns tech that the AI has unlocked and is already using normally. This preserves the excitement of discovering new ships, even after having played several games. | ||||

Superterminal is the same way. THis has some definite balance problems WRT reclamation, since it'll spawm Mk3 Scouts, Armor Boosters, and other useful support vessels. It would be interesting if the AI eye only spawned one type of ship. That would give the player the option of suppressing the AI using a massive counter-wave. Of course, the only way to discover the AI Eye's type would be to trip its spawn protocol... Or there could be single-type AI eyes and occasional Super-Eyes that spawned all of that AI's ships. Hmm... |

I think the Eye needs to object to farming ;) Enthusiastically. |

Well, you go ahead and figure that one out ;) On a realistic note, itd be slightly more difficult if they spawned as a 'wave' kinda, as in, they all group moved and stick together. Id have to fight them all at once instead of the quicker ones trickling in etc. They should also get a flagship like the spire activities.. |

That's true, spawning them in that fashion might be better in the long run. Not for right now, though. :) |
