Summary | 0012719: Have a suggested exo party for each commander
Description | The "Starting a New Game" beginner tip says, "If this is your first time, feel very free to leave the defaults alone for now. It's a strong party for new players." The problem is, the game remembers your selections, so there is no way to go back to the "defaults" mentioned in the tip once you've changed something! So there should be at least a button to get you back to the original party (I think it's Assault, Ninja, Science, Siege). I think it would be neat if, instead of a "switch to default party" button, there's a checkbox called "Suggested party" that will lock the exo selection and only let you choose a commander. Then when you change commanders with the checkbox enabled, the game gives you the "suggested party" for the selected commander, a party that fits the commander's personality/backstory/ability. For example maybe Rey uses all short-range exos, because his ability means getting in close-up fights isn't quite as dangerous. Emma might like Siege, Assault, Brawler, and Sniper classes because they benefit the most from good shop items. And so on. The suggested party function is more like a guideline, you can always uncheck the box and totally customize your exo selection. But I think having "standard" combinations would help the game (especially for beginner or casual player who can easily make one choice along the lines of "select a playstyle," but might be overwhelmed by the multitude of choices in "build a party"). Perhaps there should be an achievement for finishing the game with each commander's suggested party?

I am for the suggested party, but I think it should be a button that says "suggested party" that makes the party what is suggested, not a checkbox, a checkbox would feel too strong. |

This could really help new players understand multiple play styles, instead of just Meg's mixed party. I also agree with it becoming a button you press instead of a check mark, it seems like it'd just feel better. |
