Description | I had set a fairly large group of ships into FRD mode on a planet to defend that planet. When enemy ships attack, a few of the FRD ships will leave their "post" in very small waves to attack (in some cases it was one-at-a-time). In pre-Unity versions I know FRD ships would all attack at the same time, but now they aren't. | ||||

What do you have "non-sniper focus fire" in the controls set to? I think in FRD mode with it off, only the ships which will do enough damage to kill the enemy will move (the rest are unnecessary). With it on they should all move & overkill stuff (which means it dies quicker but your ships are moving unnecessarily). The moving in small groups may be due to the AI ships coming through wormholes one at a time or in small enough groups that your whole FRD fleet aren't necessary to kill each group. |

This is most likely the throttling of ship commands, which is needed in order to keep the game actually running. You'll definitely see ships get their commands in batches when there are a ton of ships. |
