edit: added a save from from early/mid game showing that even now there is nothing new

Started 2 games full vis and only triangle shiips seen for the little guys
AI 7.3 vanilla/everything
complex ships

testing a few more settings and will post if can unlock more than triangle for the liitle guys for the AI

tried conquest w/o "light expansion enabled" and defender mode with Light exp enabled
normal and complex available ship types

still saw only triangle ships avail for random easier AI on 7.3/7.3 difficulty

Disabled all expansions - still saw only basic triangle ships for the AI fleet.
AI Starships were present in all games I tried

Same issue here. Only triangle ships. Also of note would be the lack of those grav drills the Grav Driller uses. I've scouted a bit over dozen planets and haven't seen any yet. Lots of starships for the Starfleet Commander though.

Grav Driller: I was actually wondering where are his special buildings in game I started.

As for ship types - I think I had experimentalist and feeding parasite use different ships - but then they weren't using ships from standard triangle completely. I had planets reinforced only with vampire claws, parasites and translocators. They usually had only few triangle ships - probably from galaxy gen.

Created a new game in 4.029 with no expansions enabled (have licenses for tZR & CoN) & I'm seeing the same behaviour. AI's are difficulty 6, Random Easier (default new game settings). Complex ships available, no ship types unselected.

In a 4.021 generated game I'm seeing the triangle ships along with stuff like space tanks & raptors appear during reinforcement waves in systems I have scouts sitting in so it seems like the bug is related to new game generation rather than mid-game

Unfortunately, this will only work for new games, since it's part of the startup seeding.

I'm guessing it was a boolean being inverted as a 4.029 game I generated with the expansions off & "Normal" ship types selected had mostly only triangle ships but on the first level 4 world I attacked I found Teleport Stations, Teleport Raiders & I think I saw some EtherJets too all of which shouldn't appear at all with those options.
