Summary0001137: "Candy" Tech Unit Cap
DescriptionA tech that increases your ship cap of all, or a select, fleet unit by a set percentage.


E.g: 'Bomber Sub Processor' 10% more bombers, of all Mk levels.

Candy techs to increase ship cap were discussed a ton a long time ago, and it's something I'm not in favor of for various reasons. The forums has the longwinded discussions on it if you're curious. :)

I think it would be better if the cap was something more universal, instead of a range of different unlocks for various ship types. Like '+1 to every normal and bonus ship cap'. Maybe limited to mk1-3. Would be more useful if you have a lot of ships unlocked, or ships that have a low ship cap by default.

Could also be a percentage, like 5%, but then it would be the opposite. Some ship caps are not affected (like if ship cap is 8, then 5% of that is less than 1, while swarmers and the like would get the cap increased by several ships.

Then again, going with the original idea, the techs could be limited to triangle ships, so you can have caps increased by 10% for Bomber, Fighter or Frigate.

Unlocking these might be useful if you're not in luck with getting ARS's or enough knowledge to unlock higher mark triangle ships, and want a bit more ships out of what you already have.
