Summary0001087: Trial mode shows up during hosting of new campaign after unlocking LotS
DescriptionLooks like the trial mode bugs are still not entirely gone.

Unlocking LotS with a proper license key now correctly shows up in the main screen -- it does not show trial mode there, however when hosting a new campaign, it still lists the player as TRIAL - 3 hour limit.

Restarting the game corrects this.

I made it related to 0000489, but this is on PC not OSX.

You have to restart the game for expansion changes to take effect... still.
sorry, as in, youve had to do this since the dawn of creation of aiwar.. not sure why its not stated more explicitly.

They've managed to clean up some of the behavior, and their comments in past bug reports still indicate they're trying to have it behave properly without a restart -- so either they will address this issue, or if it's "this is the way it has always been" then just have the game force a restart by displaying 'the game must restart for changed to take effect' and only offer a button that says "ok" which exits the game and restarts.

Either way the problem is addressed.

Lancefighter if that's the case, entering a license key for an expansion should either prompt you to restart the game or do it for you. This is a bug as noted on the related issue. It may have always worked like that but it doesn't mean it's supposed to.
