Summary0010648: Grays no longer stand still when no path is available.
DescriptionIn the past, if there was NO way for a Gray to reach you, it would stand still or return to the gathering point if one exists.

A prime example of this has been the iron fence in 001's backyard. Some Slow Grays suddenly arrive via scripting, but then they would just stand there, watching the kids. This was perfect because one of those Grays is scripted to die upon touching the iron gate, so the other two had no reason to move around.

Well, after your AI adjustments, they no longer just stand there. I have no gathering point on this screen, yet they walk along the fence, following the player(s) along that horizontal. It makes a much better effect, as the player(s) can "interact" with them in a taunting manner.

I'm pointing this out because we may have puzzles that depend on them staying still until an obstacle is removed by the player.

In the level, 014 - The Farm, the indoor Grays would stay still until someone busts down the cabinet barricade. This scared me when I first played the level because I wasn't 100% aware they would pursue me. Now, however, you can hear them traipsing through the debris inside the house, long before you even break the front door. You find them pushing against the cabinet, which doesn't have the same impact as "oh no, they know about me now!"

Even though I like the effect it has in the tutorial, because the players are clearly "seen", overall I feel it needs to be fixed.

Good point.

* Grays that have never been able to pathfind toward you will no longer run at you using "simple tracking." That was something we tried recently, but it was messing with immersion and a few other thematic things.
