Summary	0010142: Change UI screen layouts to reduce necessary keystrokes
Description	Incorporate horizontal elements into menus (use left/right keys as well as up/down) so as to reduce number of necessary keystrokes. Example: The Dispatch Resistance Member Pane currently requires scrolling vertically to desired resistance member, selecting them, scrolling vertically to the "enter" button, selecting that button. If you change your mind and want to return to the map, you have to scroll vertically down to back. Changing this screen to have three columns, with the leftmost being "back," the center column being the list of resistance members, and the rightmost column being "dispatch on mission", with the user switching between columns with left/right keys and scrolling vertically to select the resistance members with up/down keys could reduce the amount of vertical scrolling (and on keyboard keystrokes) necessary. This could also be used on the general strategic overlay menu to differentiate the action buttons from the advice buttons. (Not sure if this is a tweak or major change)

zaaq Dec 26, 2012 10:40 pm reporter ~0029321	Having dedicated cancel/back and accept actions (ala XBox-style controls) in the menus could also ease the pain of switching between screens. Issue 10112 (linked) contains more info on that.
