Summary0010098: Fire mage has one OP attack
DescriptionI've been obliterating everything as a fire mage using the attack that makes many fireballs in an arc ('W'). For some reason, there's no cooldown on this attack, so I can just spam it non-stop. It's also one of my most powerful attacks. There's almost no reason to use my 'A' attack, and the 'D' attack has a long cooldown that makes it worse than my 'W' attack even though it's much weaker!

The crescent spell I wouldn't say is overpowered, because it can't shoot anything below you in any fashion at all. If you're walking uphill you're good, but if you are walking downhill, it suddenly becomes worthless. I think this balances out nicely.

Now, of course, you can work around this by, in the downhill example, jumping over a monster and again placing yourself downhill from the monster, but that isn't always possible or easy (in a cave or a building), so I think it is a fair trade-off.

Yes but the damage of flame crescent compared to your primary is ridiculous. Primary takes many consecutive hits while the secondary might oneshot in many cases. The damage needs to be good because of how restrictive it is, but perhaps it is too high. Or perhaps as someone else said, maybe the cooldown should be increased a bit.

Now if you want to see an OP skill, just look at flameout. Great damage and caliber, 5 ammo cost, and actually works in MP unlike all the homing spells. Yeah that last reason is ballocks, so it probably doesn't need a serious nerf, but hey I might as well mention that I prefered to stay forgician for tier 2 (maybe even 3) in a certain playthrough because all of the later ammo abilities sucked/didn't work... I was using a high ammo character so yeah.

You tried blocking every attack with that arc on a high difficulty?

And yeah, it might be powerful but its an extremely specific ranged attack plus most of the time it hits into walls.

From my (brief) experience, the fire mage is the most powerful class, mostly due to flame crescent. It's extremely powerful, and because it forms an arc, it's very hard to miss anything so long as you get used to firing from that range.

In for .708

* Embershot's damage has been more than doubled. To compensate, Explosive Crescent and Flameout have both gotten just a bit weaker.

Please let us know if this class needs further tweaking.
