| Description | Under OS X, it doesn't seem possible to send a chat message with the keyboard after typing it. So either from the chat dialog (brought up by pressing enter) or from the message log, I type in my message, and then I must use the mouse to press the send button. Same applies to the lobby. As someone who reaches for the mouse only as a last resort, this is excruciatingly painful :) | ||||

Actually, I remembered this wrong – enter works fine in the lobby. |

Any news on this? It makes coordinating while playing multiplayer really horrible :( |

Clicking in the game view to remove focus from the text field makes return work to send the message. So at least I can just click anywhere and then press return instead of having to press the button… |

I will check on this, but it's likely to be a fairly ugly one to try to track down, and right now there's other stuff that is higher priority on my shortlist. But don't worry, we don't ignore stuff that's in mantis. |

OK, thanks – it’s good to have it acknowledged at least. It won’t be nearly as bad now that I can just click anywhere, but if this affects all OS X users then I would imagine it would put off a lot of people who want to play multiplayer (and won’t have discovered the work-around) :( |

Mostly we expect you'll use some sort of voice chat, honestly. Not that the text chat isn't helpful and useful, but AI War is best played using something like skype, teamspeak, or similar. That's certainly not always possible, of course, which is why we have the text chat. |

Yeah I can see that would be better, and it’s something I would use, but in the games I’ve started people are using text-chat. |

Sorry about the slowness on my response here; so many issues, and this one got lost in the shuffle. I tested in the latest versions, and Enter works fine on my OSX laptop. We redid a lot of the menu handling, so it's hopefully just going to be the case that the latest betas resolve the issue for anyone that was previously having it. |
