DescriptionAfter seeing multiple complaints about this issue, figured I'd bring it up here.

Though the game tends to spawn the necessary buildings early on now (as opposed to how it did it before), it is often missing the important apothecary NPC, who is necessary to use the rescue-survivors scroll, and pretty important to getting all of the right professions in the settlement.

Either the game should *always* have one of the starting three extra guys in the settlement be the apothecary guy, or it could perhaps make it so that secret missions early on have a high chance of instead being a rescue mission that produces this NPC. This way, the player does not get stuck, getting all of the right BUILDINGS but having nobody capable of using them, and does not have to spend huge amounts of time wandering around and just hoping to find rescue missions that may or may not even be useful.

No. If every settlement had an apoth, then you might as well remove the requirement to have an apoth from the scroll.

I am in favor of doing that, however, but I don't think that giving an apoth to every settlement is a solution.

well even if you always had an apoth, you still need the residential tower and the apoth tower...

I would actually like to see Rescue Missions show up on the World Map screen in addition to the Secret Missions, at least until you have one of each resident type.

Possibly make it an on/off option in the difficulty menu if you are really attached to the idea of NPCs only being able to be found in Secret Missions or by using Find Survivors. Though it should only be NPCs from eras that you have unlocked, still give players the added incentive to explore and unlock Playable Characters from all the different eras.

With the essential buildings being prioritized as mission rewards on new continents, getting the residential and apothecary tower is not that irritating of an issue anymore. I know a couple people who just got fed up having to go through the ritual of methodically searching every large building hoping to find a rescue mission every time they start a new continent and just stopped playing.

With the NPC rescue missions, there is an order to the professions you will get. First missions will spawn Lumbermancers until you get one of them, then Stonebinders, then Aquaurgists, THEN Apokethenisis. The reason for this is because they can really only be used in that order.
