Summary0006294: The lava flats are neither Lava-y enough nor flat enough.
DescriptionFor one of the more advanced areas, I was expecting getting around to be more complicated, I advocate more lava in surface chunks, maybe only shallow lava so that you aren't overly likely to just fall in and die, but there should probably a few pools of it in each chunk.

As a separate and more minor point, despite being lava flats they do seem to be nothing but hills.

So more lava, less hills (perhaps make them more sheer to compensate).

EDIT: I came across a particularly demonstrative piece of ground so added a screenshot.

Careful what you wish for! Mwa ha ha. :)

* The lava flats have now been redone to be a lot flatter and a lot more lava-filled.
** Also, given that the utahraptors are now immune to lava and can in fact run through the lava at full speed (or even hide in it), the lava flats are a new zone of terror unlike what you've encountered before.

I sense a great disturbance in the force. As if millions of gamers suddenly cried out, and were suddenly silenced with a hot splash and a hissing noise...

Clearly they had to balance out all the extra fun added by the Umbra Vortex missions

Well, personally I'm still finding these to be quite a fun area, to be honest. But they are also heart-stoppingly surprising at other times. We'd always wanted The Deep and the lava flats to stand out as optional-and-crazy-hard areas that you can always avoid but which do have some interesting things in them if you want to go there... and these changes in this version definitely support that view of them.

People have been asking for some areas with unusual difficulty spikes, and now they have them! ;)
