Description | This one I've got the graphics for, but I'm not 100% sure how it should really work. In general, the idea here is that this is an enemy that has crashed and is embedded in the ground. To me, I'm thinking that therefore that means this is an outdoor enemy. But it's the size of a miniboss, so we could certainly use it as that, too. This enemy never moves at all, given that it has crashed, but it should fire some projectiles out at players as they get near to it. In some sort of interesting trajectories, or maybe rising up from the ship and then aiming at the nearest player once they reach a certain height, or something along those lines. Most importantly, we need a reason that players can't just stand out of range and hurl rocks at it or whatever. They have to have a reason to come into close range to actually hurt it. For that reason, I'm thinking that it should probably have some sort of shield bubble (even using the graphics from AI War, potentially), and you have to fire from within that shield bubble to hit it. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but maybe have it fire counter-projectile shots in addition to standard attacks? That way you'd have to get closer to it to either a) hit it with melee or b) get close enough to attack and not give the thing enough time to send off an intercept shot. If that doesn't work then the shield idea that blocks shots from outside but allows you to go inside and attack is a fine solution as well. |
