Summary | 0005312: unable to gift ships
Description | i finally got my friends to buy the game so we can play multiplayer. in all cases so far that we have tried to gift ships it fails. doesnt tell us why just doesnt change the color to new owner. is this a refresh of page issue? is there a setting that i need to select to allow the trading? mainly its because my friends dont want to be hassled with the spire plot line so want me to do it but i cant because we cant gift the first colony to the correct player. after noting that plot line ship wouldnt be traded i tracked down fighters and bombers and tried and they fail to trade as well. i am getting a message when doing spire stuff that it says to player (1/1). when i use a ship it says player (0/1). i assumes thats a reference to how many of the ship selected are available to trade? when a trade fails is there an error message and if not we need one.

Not all the plotline stuff is giftable, it just does foldouts for some things (the refugee outpost, the shipyards) so the other players can build that stuff. For the fighters/bombers, can you try gifting a MkI fighter again, making sure that the target player does not have a full cap of MkI fighters already? And yes, error messages should be telling you those things, I don't know to what extent they actually try. |

My friends and I experienced this during a game. We found that if you tried to gift a building that had a menu at the bottom left, the buttons in the background took priority. We were attempting to gift science labs and ended up unlocking tech we didn't want. It is possible that buildings that get menus could have had a similar issue. Rereading the OP, this sounds a little different, and maybe requires it's own issue. The solution we found was to make sure that when we tried to give labs, we always clicked at the very right edge of the button with their name since there was no UI behind this section and it solved the problem. If the description isn't clear let me know and I'll try to create a screenshot outlining what I mean. I couldn't figure out how to take a screenshot which included the cursor. |
