Description | While this option certainly does stop spinning the primary force field graphic, it doesn't stop spinning all of the smaller bubbles that get drawn around each individual ship falling under its protection. I would imagine it's the rotation of potentially many hundreds of graphics that makes a bigger dent on the display engine, than the one large field, but I could be wrong. | ||||

Actually, this whole thing has no effect on performance whatsoever. Well... on any graphics card that is otherwise able to display the game, anyway. The only reason for the option is because some folks found the rotation distracting. |
